Normally, I'd be relaxing, knowing that this entire week is kid-free, work-free, and stress-free( except for the stress of perfecting my potato salad for our Thanksgiving Dinner). OR, I'd be preparing lesson plans for two days, and scrambling to find Charlie Brown Thanksgiving for Wednesday's classes.
I won't be home for the holidays, this year, and, it's bittersweet. Fortunately, I've got a piece of "home" with me in Korea, so I adjusted my schedule, and made plans to spend Thanksgiving with Theo and the other American troops up in Seoul, on the military base.
I will work Monday-Wednesday, and I've requested two vacation days for Thursday and Friday. On Thursday morning, I will take the KTX in Eonyang to Seoul. I want to leave my house around 8:30 or 9am. But, you know....I run on CP time. Theo has some even from 12-1 so I may have a little time to explore Seoul a bit before I meet him. We have a couple of planned dinners to attend. Yes, 'dinners' plural.
On Friday, we will raid the commissary, and hopefully catch Best Man Holiday in one of the theatres. I'm really excited to spend Thanksgiving in Seoul It's had some snow, and I'm hoping to get a bit of a"White Thanksgiving" while I'm there.
For my family, Thanksgiving is a rather big deal. Everyone gathers at my parent's house and we spend a lot of quality time catching up on each others lives and enjoying the company. I'll certainly miss that this year.
I feel so blessed to be able to spend time with someone who is practically family, for this holiday.
I can't wait to share the pictures with you all. Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends, family, and acquaintances! I am thankful for every single one of you.
xoxo
