WINTER CAMP IS DONE! So, what's it like, you ask? Well, that depends SOLELY on the schools. At my place of employment, we are required to finish an eight-lesson textbook, complete with videos and quizzes for students. When we finish each lesson, we are free to create some arts and crafts with the kids to supplement their learning. Here' s what I did. VERY SIMPLE. VERY CHEAP, and the kids found it hilarious.
Other teachers may be required to come up with entire days lessons. We teach grades 3-6, two hours at a time, so it really comes down to finding a topic that really cuts across age groups and can be differentiated.

CARDBOARD ANIMALS: One of the topics was animals, so we used colored paper and cardstock to make "frogs." The kids had a great time making their animals look as CRAZY as possible :-).
COLORS: Very simple. Students chose three colors, and matched the text to the words.
We used this to make shapes.
We read Jack and the Beanstalk together, had a small discussion, and then made "beanstalks." There are more pictures below...
